Knauer Performing Arts Center, West Chester, PA | As the only featured dance company during Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center’s last season, KYL/D returned as part of the venue's new Dance Series for the 22-23 season. The company took the stage with a robust variety of signature dance-works spanning the company’s history, including choreography by Kun-Yang Lin paired alongside works by KYL/D senior dance artists Evalina (Wally) Carbonell and Weiwei Ma. |
November 3, 2022 @9:30am and December 1, 2022 @9:30am | Grounds for Sculpture, Hamilton, NJ | KYL/D Partners with Grounds for Sculpture for Wellness Walks, which includes walking the gardens and joining KYL/D in guided CHI Dance meditations and movement exercises, highlighting the relationship of the moving body to breath, awareness and mindfulness. The workshop infuses elements of Eastern movement philosophies found in Tai Chi, yoga and Qi Gong while also exploring one of KYL/D’s acclaimed dance works, Spring 101. The morning closes with light beverages and informal discussion with those in attendance. |

July 23, 2022 @11:00am | Belmont Hills Library, Philadelphia, PA | An in-person, family event! Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers partners with Belmont Hills Library for its series about traveling around the world through dance. Funding was provided by the PA Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The session sold-out. |
July 18-22, 2022 | CHI Movement Arts Center, Philadelphia, PA | KYL/D hosts its first Audition-Shop since the pandemic. Over the course of five days, 65+ individuals come to KYL/D's Dance Center for the opportunity to be considered for dance artist positions within the ensemble, along with take class with current company members and learn KYL/D repertoire. |
June 11, 2022 @1:30pm | West Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, PA | The annual West Park Arts Fest brings families together for a day of live performances, activities, drawing and performance workshops, and exploring items on sale by arts and craft vendors. During this event, KYL/D senior dance artists Evalina “Wally” Carbonell and Weiwei Ma presented their independent choreographic collaboration on the work titled “Blood,” which was part of a larger production which premiered at the 2020 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. |

Professor Kun-Yang Lin retires after 19 years of teaching, mentoring, and inspiring students to be mindful of the magical interplay of body, mind, and spirit. The Temple University Department of Dance hosted attendees for an afternoon of performances, reminiscing, and wishing him well during the next phase of his remarkable career. |

This program includes an immersive experience of KYL/D's CHI Awareness Practice— incorporating mindfulness-based movement activities with dialogue surrounding specific works/concepts explored in the Cloister and the Portal Gallery to cultivate new perspectives and embodied understanding. |
March 6, 2022 @6:00pm | Virtual Event | KYL/D partners with the Free Library of Philadelphia for it's Virtual Sundays on Stage program to introduce CHI Awareness Practice and the concepts which guide it-- rooted in Eastern philosophies found in Taoism and Buddhism. Attendees watched excerpts from KYL/D’s ensemble shows to see how these elements are illustrated and participated along through movement activities. The event was streamed through the Free Library's Youth Services and Programs Facebook Page. |

January - December, 2022 | Several Schools in the School District of Philadelphia | KYL/D provides its CHI Dance program to several public schools within the School District of Philadelphia. Designed for students in grades K-12, CHI Dance is modeled after Kun-Yang Lin/Dancer's signature CHI Awareness Practice. CHI Awareness Practice has been cultivated for over 30 years by Artistic Director, Kun-Yang Lin, which focuses on developing the relationship of the moving body to breath, awareness, and mindfulness. During CHI Dance, students learn fundamental dance technique through the skills mindfulness provides, allowing students to focus on the connection of body, mind, and breath inside and outside of the classroom. |
