Kun-Yang, Gus and Pallabi meet at Gus’ studio in NYC for the first public event as part of the Where is my B-O-D-Y project, inviting the community to observe their creations and be in dialogue with the collaborators to discuss the impact of the project.
The group had a regular engagement for several hours, a break and then the community sharing ran from 2:30-4:00pm. The event was facilitated by Dance Enthusiast Founder and Co-Editor, Christine Jowers, who knows Gus and Kun-Yang well and have been in dialogue around this project for several weeks.
Attendees commented on how inspiring it was to watch more mature artists moving together and how this project is not something they’ve experienced in the past. The collaborators spoke on how oftentimes, once you become a teacher, a mentor, etc. there is less time you give yourself to put yourself back into the perspective of a learner, a student, to give yourself time to experiment within your practice. One of the most important elements of this process was gift of time.
